Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Storeperson to join our operations team in Heatherton, Victoria. The hours of this role will be worked on a roster between 6am to 4pm Monday - Friday. This role plays a key part in maintaining operations efficiencies, safety standards and customer satisfaction levels within our warehouse, with key responsibilities including:
Safety and Compliance:
Prioritise safety and carry out duties in a compliant manner, adhering to policies, SOPs, PPE requirements and regulations to minimise risk promote a safety culture.Promptly report any potential safety hazards or issues that could harm colleagues, customers, visitors, or equipment.Participate and contribute to regular toolbox talks, safety briefings and opportunities to promote safe working practices.Warehouse Operations:
Carry out warehousing tasks, including loading/unloading containers and customer vehicles, picking and packing orders, and maintaining general warehouse cleanliness.Safely operate machinery including our overhead crane and forklift to safely load slabs onto customer vehicles.Communicate professionally with customers and accompany them on-site, ensuring compliance with all safety requirements.Utilise RF scanner to locate and pick slabs as per the pick list, ensuring communication with the Customer Service team for any necessary adjustments.Verify documentation and delivery dockets to ensure they match the loaded items on customer trucks, ensuring compliance with receiving a customers signature on all dockets.Accurately load and unload semi-trailers for stock transfers between branches, recording stock on Goods Inwards Receipt (GIR).Support the Warehouse Supervisor to conduct load plans to enhance our position as part of Chain of Responsibility.
Our ideal candidate will have gained 12+ months experience within a similar warehousing environment, have experience using a RF scanner, with a current LF forklift licence and possess a strong commitment to and understanding of safe working methods, the importance of pick & loading accuracy & the ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with customers.
