About the Role: Positive behaviour for learning (PBL) is an evidence-based framework to establish systematic school-wide approaches that support students to be socially and behaviourally successful.
The South Australian Department for Education is supporting selected schools to implement the PBL framework to create positive, predictable, equitable and safe learning environments where everyone thrives.
The Positive Behaviour for Learning Mentor is responsible for contributing to the implementation of a school wide Positive Behaviour for Learning framework in selected government schools and to promote this approach more broadly across the government system.
The role will work collaboratively with the Lead Practitioner, Positive Behaviour for Learning, school leaders and support staff to provide timely, strategic, informed, best practice advice to build both system level support and schools' capacity to implement a PBL approach.
Qualifications: Essential: Recognised teaching qualifications and registration as a teacher in SA.
Desirable: Relevant qualifications in positive behaviour for learning, special education and/or related field.
Sound working knowledge of the educational implications of the Disability Discrimination Act and the Disability Standards for Education.
Special Conditions: The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration: STL 2 $135,204 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (11.5%)
