General/Business Unit Manager (CEO & General Management)Full timeAbout usApprenticeship Support Australia (ASA) has been awarded the Australian Government's contract to support apprenticeships and traineeships in Tasmania, New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, South Australia and Queensland for 2024 – 2026, which began on 1 July.ASA leverages 26 years of apprenticeship and traineeship support to enhance successful retention and completion rates whilst growing participation. ASA offers free, quality advice, apprentice/trainees sign ups, administrative payment support, mentoring and personal support. Apprenticeships and traineeships are crucial to Tasmania's VET system and economy, bridging career aspirations and skills needs.About the roleBased in Hobart, the State Operations Manager is responsible for leading a team to provide services across Tasmania. This role involves strategic planning, team management, business growth, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to apprentices, employers, and key stakeholders. There will be a high focus on developing new business opportunities as an ongoing requirement of the role.About youThis position is well suited to an individual who enjoys managing people, thrives in a busy environment, and has the ability to grow new business. In addition, you will have:Proven experience in a leadership role (at least five years is preferable)Strong understanding of the Australian Apprenticeship system in TasmaniaAbility to build and maintain strong relationships with a range of stakeholdersProven business development achievements through new business, growth, and client retentionProven ability to lead and motivate a high-performing teamDemonstrated management skills and ability to work within a program frameworkWell-developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience in client serviceExcellent problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesHigh level of integrity and professionalismThe successful candidate will be provided with the required tools to perform the role, including a mobile phone allowance, laptop, and vehicle, in addition to a competitive salary.Please note that the successful applicant will be subject to a range of pre-employment checks, including a satisfactory police check, working with children check, work-related references, and evidence of working rights as a pre-condition of employment.
