Location Profile Hazel Glen College is located in the City of Whittlesea, one of Melbourne's fastest growing municipalities. The College commenced at the beginning of the 2014 school year with 143 students and has grown to a current size of 2,300 students and 250 staff.

Selection Criteria SC1: Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills. Experience in responding to student learning needs. SC2: Experience in planning for and implementing high impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact on student learning growth. SC3: Experience in monitoring and assessing student learning, using data to inform teaching practice and providing feedback on student learning growth and achievement. SC4: Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader school community. SC5: Behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values, reflecting upon practice and engaging in professional learning to improve teaching quality. Role The classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges- range 1 and range 2. The primary focus is on planning, preparation, and teaching to achieve specific student outcomes.
Range 2 classroom teachers assist in improving student performance and educational outcomes, contributing to the development and implementation of school policies. They are expected to model exemplary classroom practice and mentor other teachers.
Range 1 classroom teachers focus on developing skills under structured support, with responsibilities for teaching their own classes and assisting in policy development.
Responsibilities The role of classroom teacher may include but is not limited to:
Direct teaching of groups and individual students; Contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum programs; Participating in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps, and excursions; Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
