Research Finance Administration Officer Make an impact supporting the financial administration and processes in the Clinical Trials Unit as part of the Epilepsy Program. About Epilepsy Clinical Trials - Neurology Austin Health's Epilepsy Program (through the Epilepsy Research Centre) is part of the Cancer and Neuroscience Division and the Florey Neuroscience Institute, one of the premier centres for epilepsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis (MS) and peripheral nerve investigation in Australia. The Epilepsy Research Centre is a world-renowned leader in the field of epilepsy research and treatment.
The Clinical Trials Unit of the Epilepsy Program exists for people with epilepsy as a resource to allow access to experimental treatments for those whom standard treatments have proved unsuccessful, and for health professionals working with patients who have epilepsy. Epilepsy Clinical Trials allow Neurologists within the epilepsy program to explore new treatments for their patients at Austin Health at a very early phase and to contribute to the development and use of new treatments. Epilepsy Clinical Trials provide new treatments and assessment for hundreds of patients and are actively involved in both local and international epilepsy research.
About the role As the Research Finance Administration Officer, you will work closely with the Epilepsy Clinical Trials Manager and Submission Specialist. You will review and administer Clinical Trial Finance Agreements and Study Budgets, as well as oversee the financial administration and processes in the department.
A regular day will see you:
Maintain journals for all drug trials undertaken by the unit Create invoice requests for drug trials accounts Claim patient reimbursement from pharmaceutical companies Liaise with the finance department on payment queries Collaborate with multiple team members for patient visits payments About you You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to excellence in services provided by the unit. You'll bring energy and drive to your work and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
