About the opportunity
The Victorian Government is upgrading the Eastern Freeway with new express lanes, new traffic management technology and Melbourne's first dedicated busway. Laing O'Rourke is part of the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance with Major Road Projects Victoria, Symal, Arcadis and WSP. Our scope of work includes a new interchange connecting the Eastern Freeway to the North East Link tunnels, major road and bridge upgrades, smart traffic management technology upgrades and new noise protection to meet Victoria's toughest traffic noise standards.
About the role
We are currently seeking a Contract Administrator to join us on the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance. This role involves supporting the Project Delivery Team's commercial and financial resources to meet requirements, assisting package owners and engineers in procurement, cost management, forecasting, reporting, subcontractor management, and project close out.
Key responsibilities
Support procurement activity in accordance with the requirements of the construction program. Ensure that all subcontractor claims are certified & processed in line with timing requirements. Ensure that all contractual terms are understood and managed appropriately. Undertake post-contract reviews and report on recommendations and corrective actions. Assist in ensuring that commitments, cost to date, accruals, and risk & opportunity information are completed accurately. Identify trends in forecast costs and propose measures to remedy budget issues. Work closely with key personnel to manage key risks and opportunities. Assist in the compilation of the monthly contract review pack. About you
Knowledge of bonds, guarantees, warranties, insurances, and other common contractual mechanisms. Ability to manage claims related to delay and loss/expense. Ability to ensure that project records are produced and updated to support reports and claims. Understanding of programmes and the importance of logic links. Able to formulate arguments for claims regarding extensions of time and loss/expense. Benefits
