The position is required to provide a coordinated, evidence-based, seamless, patient-focused approach to providing cancer nursing care. Interventions will vary according to the complexity of care required and the individual needs of the patient. The focus of the role is to address unmet Prostate cancer patient care needs particularly at diagnosis followed by post treatment and into survivorship care.
About the role South West Healthcare (SWH) is seeking a Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse to join our Oncology team on a fixed-term basis. The Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse (PCSN) role is designed to complement the existing cancer care services to provide specialist nursing care, information, education, and support to patients diagnosed with Prostate Cancer within the Victorian South West region. The PCSN role will work in partnership across all health areas and sectors within the region to contribute to the continuity and quality of care for patients diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Position overview Part-time (48 hours per fortnight) Fixed term position commencing February 2025 through until March 2026 Warrnambool Campus Clinical Nurse Consultant C, Year 1 What you bring As a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 5 years post-registration experience and advanced skills in cancer or urological nursing, you will have demonstrated abilities in delivering high-quality patient care, leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills. Project management, organizational and communication skills are essential, along with an ability to work in and with a multidisciplinary team and a commitment to total quality management and improved health care outcomes.
