This role begins in February 2025.0.1- Weekly outpatient clinic0.06 - CSTYour Responsibilities:Clinical Services – InpatientsParticipation in the inpatient clinical activities of the Department, including 13 weeks of ward service and participation in the after-hours on-call roster.Responsibility for management of inpatients admitted under the General Medicine team while on ward service, including provision of contemporary comprehensive specialist services for optimal patient outcomes.Lead ward round discussions with fellows, registrars, medical students and nursing staff regarding admitted patients, encouraging active participation in care and clinical decision making.Work in partnership with other medical, nursing and allied health professionals to provide best practice care for paediatric patients in a multidisciplinary setting.Liaison with parents/carers regarding procedures and plans regarding medical care.Clinical Services – OutpatientsDelivery of a weekly outpatient clinic.Non-ClinicalTimely and accurate completion of patient related documentation, including EMR encounters, outpatient documentation and any other required documentation relevant to enhancing continuity of care.QualityUtilise information systems to enable informed decision making and care planning.Actively participate in risk management and quality programs to improve organisational processes and own practices.EducationUndertake continuing education opportunities to foster safe clinical practice, quality initiative and research.Undertake supervision and education within the clinical environment of Fellows, Registrars, Undergraduate medical students and other relevant staff to foster safe clinical practice (where applicable).Performance ReviewParticipate in self-reflective practice.Your Skills and Experience:MBBS (or equivalent).FRACP – General Paediatrics (or equivalent).Specialist Registration with AHPRA and eligibility for medical registration within Victoria.Previous experience delivering inpatient care at a tertiary hospital.If this sounds like you, click here to view the position description.About General MedicineThe Department of General Medicine is one of the largest departments at RCH.
