Are you ready to lead with impact and drive meaningful change? The Department of Energy, Environment, and Climate Action (DEECA) invites you to join us as the Program Director – Portfolio Strategy, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of our Infrastructure and Resources Division.
As the Program Director – Portfolio Strategy, you will lead and manage the Portfolio Strategy team, focusing on both strategic portfolio management and the development and implementation of key organisational strategies.
In this role, you will build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring strategic objectives are achieved through effective collaboration and alignment. While you oversee the division's portfolio of projects and programs, ensuring they align with broader organisational objectives and are managed and delivered efficiently with the right resources.
This is a unique opportunity to optimise and align a diverse portfolio of critical projects, creating lasting value for Victorian communities.
About you:
Proven experience in managing projects and/or programs, with proficiency and certifications in project/program management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2). Expertise in managing portfolios of programs is advantageous. An expert leader in strategic planning processes, capable of crafting a shared vision for the future while leveraging a deep understanding of external and internal factors that influence the strategic direction of the organisation. Ability and experience in driving ethical leadership to cultivate an organisational culture that enables others to perform at their best and achieve outcomes for the organisation. Experienced in embedding quality practices in the service and solution delivery process, while encouraging new and innovative approaches, ways of working, and solutions that exceed client or stakeholder expectations. Experienced in identifying and managing a range of complex and often competing needs, requiring innovative solutions to resolve stakeholder issues. About the organisation:
We employ more than 7,000 staff, who work from more than 82 locations throughout Victoria, across the portfolios of energy, environment, climate action, water, agriculture and resources. Our challenge is to maintain Victoria's liveability, with a population expected to almost double by 2050, while responding to climate change and protecting our natural environment, infrastructure and heritage for future generations. We take a community-centred approach and involve communities and key stakeholders in decisions and policies that affect them and we collaborate across our portfolios to design and deliver services and programs.
This is a fixed term position available for a period until 7 May 2025. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
