Role An education support class position at this range will perform tasks that are carried out in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice, and school policy under supervision and direction. This may include coordination of other education support class staff within the work area or educational program.
An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students but must not include duties of a teacher as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students can be required individually or in groups up to 4 in controlled circumstances and where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.
Certification and/or qualifications of up to three years can be required at this level.
Responsibilities Student Administration
Schedule tours of the College for prospective students and families for Assistant Principals Process student enrolments using the CASES21 Administration system Process student exits using the CASES21 Administration system Maintain a strong knowledge of and experience in using the CASES21 Administration systems Adhere to DET student enrolment and exit guidelines and regulations Liaise with primary schools during Year 7 transition times Communicate enrolment information to new families Arrange new enrolment meetings for new students Adhere to DET transition timelines Maintain additional databases as directed (for example: sports permissions) Using Compass, ensure all new families are provided with their login details in a timely manner CSEF applications Assist with orientation days and information evening for year 7s Bus Coordination
Monitor student numbers on all bus services that depart and begin at SCSC and implement changes where necessary Accept and process applications for the Anglesea/Bellbrae bus lines for students from SCSC, Torquay P-6 College and St Therese Catholic Primary School Accept and pass on applications for Winchelsea/Moriac and Aireys/Lorne areas to the Bus Coordinator at Matthew Flinders Girls Secondary College Process all Conveyance applications submitted to the College prior to the deadline Assess eligibility for new services or route extensions Enter student late arrivals and early departures into Compass Follow up with parents/carers any student with unexplained absences or late arrivals Follow up with parents/carers and students with chronic absences Create and distribute attendance letters to parents/guardians Using Compass, audit the marking of rolls each day and follow up accordingly Identify any attendance patterns of concern and liaise with relevant school leaders General Administration
General administrative duties including answering phones, greeting visitors, responding to emails etc. Assist in the Sick Bay when required Process and issue receipts to students and parents/guardians using CASES21 Finance (if required) Other Duties
Undertake other duties relevant to the field of responsibility as requested by the Business Manager or Principal Comply with the College's policies and procedures Maintain a healthy and safe working environment This position description describes in general terms the normal duties which the Administration team member is expected to undertake.
