About the Role The Honourable Justice Fox is seeking a legally qualified individual to be her Associate with an estimated commencement date in February 2025. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the Criminal Division of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
Excellent writing skills and a strong academic record are essential, along with personal qualities suitable for liaising with the profession and members of the public. An individual with up to two years' post-graduate experience and/or an interest in criminal law would be advantageous.
Duties include: Performing administrative tasks, including maintaining Court records and preparing material for use by the judge in Court; Preparing research and briefing memoranda and assisting in the production of judgments, papers and presentations, including proofreading and editing; Speaking in Court - empanelling juries, taking verdicts and arraigning the accused; Jury keeping duties during trial; Liaising with Court staff, the public, the media and the profession.
