We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (ideally with Defence sector experience) to join our friendly and supportive Adelaide office. You will have the opportunity to build your team and help grow the business whilst shaping the culture of the office. You will be a part of our multi-disciplinary team working across various building projects and service projects including those of relatively large size, of high complexity and with multiple clients. The role will enable the successful candidate to develop in a professional and personal sense and to forge a challenging and rewarding career path in a successful consultancy.
Day to day tasks would involve: Share your time between project involvement and management responsibilities. Represent Stantec externally to Clients, playing a senior and active role in managing these relationships. Support and offer guidance to Engineers and Graduate Engineers to enable them to perform successfully at all levels. Prioritise workloads whilst ensuring our clients' needs are met, maintaining strong and trusting working relationships with your colleagues both locally and across the international Stantec team. Demonstrate a high degree of technical knowledge, providing oversight and supervision to ensure successful project delivery on time and to budget. Identify opportunities for innovation within the mechanical engineering teams. Develop strategic business opportunities to shape Stantec's defence sector in the region. Identify clients and pursuits in line with strategic objectives to grow market share and increase the reputation of the business for delivery excellence. To be successful for this role you'll need: Hold a Mechanical Engineer Degree or equivalent. Have experience working in the consulting or engineering industry and have a good understanding of the local Adelaide buildings business. Be well-connected/networked within the industry and able to foster client relationships. The role is suitable for a qualified candidate who has significant Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) design experience on building projects. Ideally have experience working in the Defence sector. Ability to make quality business decisions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
