An exciting opportunity is available for a Psychiatrist to join our service at the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network (JHFMHN).
We are looking for a qualified health care professional with:
Current registration with Medical Board of Australia and the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
Eligibility for OR current Fellowship with the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or other specialist recognition as provided for in the Staff Specialist (State) Award.
The Psychiatrist provides specialist assessment and ongoing care of patients with psychiatric disorders in correctional campuses and/or forensic settings administered by JHFMHN in accordance with best evidence-based practice and organisational policies.
Our Service
The Staff Specialist Statewide Community & Court Liaison Service (SCCLS) is responsible for the provision of clinical services and clinical supervision to the SCCLS, which will operate in 57 local courts throughout Metro, Regional and Rural NSW. This position will involve developing a system of contact with the courts to ensure high standard assessments and advice is being provided by the Clinical Nurse Consultants working in the court. This position will require occasional travel to courts across NSW.
