In Hobart, you are never more than ten minutes away from a beach, national parks, or an award-winning restaurant, with a café culture to match any other Australian city.If you have a family, there are excellent local primary and secondary schools, with the University of Tasmania on our doorstep.We offer:Attractive salary including salary packaging.Flexible work/life balanceA multi-disciplinary work environmentProfessional DevelopmentThe role:As part of a multidisciplinary mental health service delivering high quality mental health care, the Psychiatrist:Provides comprehensive general inpatient and community psychiatric services in Tasmania.Acts as a consultant to mental health professionals and health service providers, including general practitioners and other agencies, regarding the assessment and management of individuals with mental health disorders.Undertakes supervisory responsibilities with Registrars/Career Medical Officers, Resident Medical Officers, and other medical staff as required.Mental Health Services:State-wide Mental Health Services (SMHS) provides a comprehensive suite of mental health services in adult, alcohol and drug, forensic, older persons, child and youth, and correctional primary.Available roles for Staff Specialist – Psychiatrists in SMHS Adult Mental Health Service South include the provision of services in:Community-based Mental Health Services, including the Acute Care Stream (ACS), Continuing Care Stream (CCS), and Mental Health Hospital in the Home (MHHiTH).The acute general adult Mental Health Inpatient Unit (MHIU) at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH).The general adult Consultation-Liaison (CL) psychiatric service in the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) and associated facilities.Rehabilitation and extended care facilities: Millbrook Rise Centre (MRC) and Tolosa Street.Step-up and step-down facilities in the community.Details of Appointment:Permanent full-time, day worker position (with on-call) working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.Salary: $210,000 - $301,349 per annum, with an 11% superannuation contribution on top of this amount.Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty.How to Apply:Apply Online.
