The Endocrinology department at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick is seeking a permanent 0.6 FTE (24 hours per week) Staff Specialist to join their team, commencing in March 2025.
What you'll be doingDeliver evidence-based care to children with diabetes and endocrine disorders and support the research and educational activities of the endocrine department.Develop and undertake world-class research that enhances health outcomes of children with diabetes and endocrine disorders.Support the educational activities within the Department and across the hospital.Mentor and train the next generation of health professionals and scientists in paediatric endocrine medicine.Effectively work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Participate in review and improvement activities that focus on measurable impact on health outcomes.Abide by the hospital code of conduct and participate in annual performance reviews for clinical services in accordance with the Staff Specialist (State) Award.SCHN is an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourages all suitably qualified applicants to apply, including Indigenous Australians and people from culturally diverse backgrounds. For more information on how to apply for the clearance, please visit the Office of the Children's Guardian Website https://www.kidsguardian.nsw.gov.au/ Minimum RequirementsEligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Endocrinologist.Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Paediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology and management of complex and rare diseases at the role delineation of the service.Possesses (or enrolled in) a higher research degree and an ongoing commitment to research and translating research into clinical practice.Proven expertise in working effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.Proven expertise in working effectively with stakeholders, including consumers.Willingness to take part in non-clinical activities, including administration.Availability to participate in an on-call roster, including weekend and public holiday cover, and to respond on site within a reasonable time.The preferred applicant may be considered for the award of a conjoint academic title at a level commensurate with their qualifications and experience.
