Riot Games Sydney is looking for an experienced Staff Software Engineer to join the Sydney-based VALORANT, Foundations Engine. Internal Job Title: Software Engineer III.

In VALORANT Foundations, we focus on the game engine, content pipelines, developer workflows, and other critical core capabilities. As a Staff Software Engineer on the VALORANT Foundations Engine team, you will work in and influence the technical direction of the core systems of Unreal Engine to enable content teams to deliver amazing things to players. This role will report to the Engineering Manager on VALORANT Foundations, Engine Sydney.
Responsibilities:Drive technical direction for Engine systems, anticipating upcoming opportunities and risksEngage in the whole Engine update program, from planning through to ship, to provide the latest tech and tools to VALORANT teamsCollaborate effectively with other disciplines to improve the Engine to enable them to craft new and better experiences for playersSeek out and champion development process improvementsUphold a high standard of engineering excellenceProvide mentorship to othersRequired Qualifications:6+ years experience in professional software development4+ years of professional experience in C++Experience working with Unreal EngineBachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent experienceHave collaborated on cross-team development efforts (3+ months in scope), including requirements gathering, planning, and releaseDesired Qualifications:Experience developing and shipping games in UnrealExperience developing and shipping games on consoleExperience modifying Unreal EngineExperience in render systemsFor this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes the delight of players. We will be looking at your past studies, experience, and your personal relationship with games. If you embody player empathy and care about players' experiences, this could be your role!
