Do work that matters As a member of the Workplace and Workforce network team, you will be leading the development and design of network services. You are expected to contribute to roadmaps and continually evolve how network services are delivered and use your experience to support & troubleshoot user impacting incidents.
You will be reporting to the Engineering Manager with the autonomy to develop and learn in the role. You will be required to bring your best self to ensure the network services across the Network portfolio are best in class.

The team is responsible for delivering leading network services that enable teams to work anywhere, anytime and anyway to achieve leading business outcomes. We are responsible for connectivity end to end across the entire CBA branch & corporate network environment covering Australia. The team is embarking on an exciting network transformation program involving SDWAN with a complete change of the network topology to enrich the network experiences of CBA employees.
Core Responsibilities (but not limited to): Author and contribute to the Network roadmap and strategy Provide thought leadership to evolve and maintain network services Develop re-useable solutions in line with the latest software and hardware trends Driving automation through understanding processes and implementing improvements. Develop and support programs to enable Zero Trust security architecture Mentor engineers to improve their skills to support them in performing their best Provide technical leadership and make technical decisions Configure, troubleshoot all forms of connectivity issues including TCP tracing. We're interested in hearing from people who: Are familiar with the Full Cycle model, where engineers are involved in Design, Build, Challenge and Run Have a passion for working with data centre networks. Have experience with technology in a large organization Can guide and mentor engineers Have thought leadership Tech Skills: We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team.
Experience taking a leading role in building complex network systems that have been successfully delivered to customers Demonstrated Network experience as an Engineer, configuring and supporting networks (Wireless Access Points, switches, routers) Expertise in WiFi design, including site surveys (Predictive and on-site), RF Planning, Capacity Analysis, Wireless Security protocols such as 802.1x, EAP-TLS, NAC, and policies Experience with Network Wireless Tools such as EKahau, Cisco Prime, and Cloud managed WiFi Platforms, and Wireshark Understanding of RF Characteristics, Spectrum analysis, and troubleshooting interference Network Automation & CI/CD Pipeline: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, APIs, and automation scripts; leverage Python, and PowerShell scripting for automation; utilise automation Tools such as Ansible to enhance automation workflow Expert skills in managing a network through centralised controllers, configuration, and management. Subject Matter Expert in Routing, Switching, Wireless, firewall, and network services technologies. Experienced in development and deployment of network and security policies like QoS, firewall, IDS/IPS, URL filtering, NAC. Experience in configuring network security devices and policies Experienced in developing network artefacts, High level Design, Low level design, test cases, as-built, change run sheets, and reports After hours on call (rotation basis) & as required to support project initiatives Preferred Requirements: Network Vendor Certification Experience working in a multi-vendor outsource environment Advanced skills with Windows and Linux Systems Financial Services experience Working with us: Whether you're passionate about customer service, driven by data, or called by creativity, a career with CommBank is for you.
