Platform Screen Door (PSD) System Technician, Sydney Metro Job Description: Company Overview: Role Tasks & Duties: The role includes but not limited to:Is responsible to ensure the PSD doors and glass panels are aligned, ensuring all doors closed and locked status is working (e.g., in contact with the door monitoring sensors) and motors/guide rails running smoothly through the timely completion of planned Preventative Maintenance, and as required Corrective Maintenance, with assistance in Emergency Response.Required to repair, refurbish, and test components via test benches during night shifts, before undertaking the scheduled corrective works in the station sites.To investigate the problems detected by the first responders during the timetable services to determine the corrective actions to undertake by the Night Shift team.They are responsible for the requisition of materials from the maintenance warehouse and delivering the material to the site in preparation for use by the Night Shift Team. Required Skills, Experience and Competencies:Key Traits in a PSD Technician (Mechanical Graduate Engineer/Mechanical Fitter, who has sound computer literacy with software installation & hardware replacement, plus posses' good mechanical skills & understanding of how to fix mechanical problems.Holds a NSW in Mechanical Graduate Engineer / Australian Certification III in Mechanical Fitter,Has experience in the NSW Railway Industry, desirable if they have worked on PSD systems or rollingstock doors that interface with PSD systems and signalling systems, or communication and control systems.Must be able read, comprehend and apply technical drawings, high level of record keeping.Ability to proactively organise / prioritise work task in a professional efficient manner both in an autonomous and team workshop.High level communications and interpersonal skills.High level problem solving skills and the ability to work as part of a team.Ability and willingness to further their knowledge and skills with additional training.Previous exposure to the rail industry, PSD systems, or fault finding, diagnostics / trouble shooting & rectification highly advantageous. General Expectations: Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical with LAB Level Drugs & Alcohol Screener.Hold an RIW Card, which will require a Category 3 Medical for Railway industry (client can facilitate acquiring this piece if they don't have this).White Card, (again client can facilitate acquiring this item if not already held).NSW Driving License, (ideally a Full C Class driving license).Australian fulltime working rights.The business is subject to the public health order requirements which are released or changed from time to time. What Is On Offer? Workdays: Sunday-Monday to Thursday-Friday (5 days)Hours of work: 2200 – 0600 for Preventative and Corrective Maintenance WorkThere will be opportunities to work on Saturday and Sunday/Public Holiday as required by the contract, it will be treated as Time off in Lieu at the respective Saturday and Sunday/Public Holiday rate.E.g.
