Job Description:
On behalf of our client, Affinity is seeking a Sr. Business Analyst to assist in streamlining and automating building permit applications while continuing to develop service deliverable enhancements for in-house web solutions and other multi-department initiatives.
Responsibilities Ability to work alongside Project Managers to supply Business Analysis services during a project lifecycle.Schedule, plan, and lead requirements gathering and review meetings in development and documentation of Business, Functional and Technical Requirements.Modeling and documenting key features and specifications of technical solutions.Facilitate requirements and design sessions with business areas and technical teams.Creation and maintenance of standard project artifacts including project scope and charters, process flow diagrams, test plans, communication plans, operating models.Developing business process and service delivery plans to successfully transform the business from the "as is" structure to a "to be" structure.Create process workflow diagrams.Design and facilitate user acceptance testing.Design and facilitate end-user training and ongoing support.Assess options for process improvements, including business process modeling.Maintain documentation regarding various projects, processes, and operations.Contribute to final solution design by identifying data, functional, and non-functional needs.Establish a structured approach with Operations staff to align with change control processes to ensure efficient end-to-end delivery of updates and changes.Liaise with the testing team to define and execute system testing such as load, integration, failover.Work collaboratively with clients and vendors/suppliers to develop and implement automated business processes, service level agreements, service management processes, and application maintenance support requirements.Interacting professionally and possessing the ability to productively engage with a wide variety of stakeholders in diverse roles (e.g.
executives, contractors, technical experts, end-users).Excellent verbal and written communication and group facilitation skills.
This includes English proficiency.Experience working in the Public Sector. REQUIREMENTS Educational and Professional Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP, CCBA, or equivalent) is preferred. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience working on IT projects as a Senior Business Analyst.
More extensive experience is required for complex and large-scale projects.Proven experience in requirements gathering, documentation, and analysis for both business and technical solutions.Experience in process improvement and business process modeling (BPMN preferred).Extensive experience in user acceptance testing (UAT) design and facilitation.Demonstrated experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams including technical and business stakeholders.Experience working with vendors and suppliers to implement automated business processes and service-level agreements (SLAs).Familiarity with automated business processes, application maintenance, and service management.Prior experience in the public sector and familiarity with government or regulated environments.Extensive hands-on experience working on large-scale, complex IT projects, ideally involving digital transformation or business process re-engineering. Skills and Competencies: Strong requirements gathering and facilitation skills, with the ability to plan, lead, and document business, functional, and technical requirements.Proficiency in business and functional requirements modeling, translating them into clear and actionable documentation.Ability to create and maintain project artifacts such as process flow diagrams, test plans, communication plans, project scope, charters, and operating models.Experience in business process transformation, with the ability to design plans to shift from an "as-is" to a "to-be" business structure.Proficiency in creating process workflow diagrams using tools like Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, or similar.Experience in designing and facilitating end-user training and ongoing support processes.Expertise in user acceptance testing (UAT), system testing (e.g., load, integration, failover), and collaborating with testing teams to define and execute test cases.Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience interacting with diverse roles, including executives, contractors, technical experts, and end-users.Comprehensive knowledge of change management processes, ensuring seamless delivery of updates and changes.Proven ability to work with clients and vendors to implement automated business processes, service management processes, and develop service-level agreements (SLAs).Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong group facilitation abilities and English proficiency. Technical Skills: Proficiency in business analysis tools such as Microsoft Visio, Excel, Jira, and Confluence.Familiarity with process modeling methodologies such as BPMN or UML.Strong experience with testing methodologies, defining system test cases, and working with testing teams.Experience with collaboration tools and maintaining detailed project documentation (Confluence, SharePoint).
