Developing a variety of innovative sport and recreation programs for students at the UniversityVaried and diverse role working within a passionate teamPart time (0.8), ongoing role based in LauncestonAbout the opportunity The Sports Coordinator is responsible for developing a variety of innovative programs and events to support the growth of sport which aligns with the University of Tasmania Sport Strategy (2020- 2025).
Reporting directly to the Sport Operations Manager, the Sports Coordinator will support all aspects of sporting activities and services on and off campus by undertaking various administrative and operational tasks. Additionally, the Sports Coordinator will take the lead role coordinating and delivering the Inter-Community Sport Competition whilst assisting the Sport Operations Manager with general support for University of Tasmania affiliated sports clubs.
What you'll do: Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to raise the profile of sport at the University and strengthen student participation.Prepare effective visual communication assets to effectively communicate with and to the university community and key stakeholders.Provide support, advice and advocacy for elite athletes studying at the University of Tasmania.Assist with the delivery and development of a diverse range of campus activation sport and recreational programs and activities.Undertake other duties and/or tasks as required by the Sports Operations Manager.What we're looking for: A tertiary level degree or higher in education, business (Sport Management) or event management with relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience.Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.An understanding of and experience in coordinating sport, health, wellbeing and recreation activities.Proven capacity to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service and the ability to deal effectively with client issues and requests in a professional manner.Salary details Appointment to this role will be at HEO 5 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $99,698 pro-rata comprising base salary within the range of $76,302 to $85,212 plus 17% superannuation.
