Speech Pathologist, Grade 2 Central Child Community Team, Austin Health ICYMHS Seeking a Speech Pathologist to make an impact supporting patients, their families and carersFixed term, part time role (22.8 hours per week) from 16/02/2025 to 15/02/2026 (parental leave cover)Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education, and research across three campuses in the north-east of Melbourne and state-wide. About the Central Child Community Team The Central Child Community Team (CCCT) at Austin Health's Infant Child and Youth Mental Health Services (ICYMHS) is a multi-disciplinary team that offers individual and group assessment, treatment, consultations, and a clinical case management service to young people with a variety of complex and severe mental illnesses and/or disorders.
CCCT primarily provides services to young people aged 0-11 in the Local Government Area of Banyule and Nillumbik. The service currently operates within business hours, with a view to expand operating hours in the future to improve accessibility in line with Royal Commission recommendations.
About the role This is a 12-month fixed-term part-time parental leave backfill contract position. The successful applicant will coordinate and deliver a high-quality, responsive, and accountable clinical speech pathology service for Young People case managed by CCCT. This will include assessment, development of management plans, and providing high-quality, evidence-based clinical treatment modalities at an individual or group level.
About you You will be someone with excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, who takes a supportive team approach to their work. You'll have strong organisational and time management skills, as shown by a dynamic and flexible approach to time and caseload management.
To be successful in this role you will bring with you:
A relevant professional qualification in Speech Pathology (Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent tertiary qualification), with eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology AustraliaA minimum of 2 years' experience in the provision of speech pathology services to children with communication and swallowing disorders who may require speech, language, voice, and fluency assessmentsDisplay a clear understanding of and practice in the principles of recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and family-centred, collaborative practice and expertise in engaging young people and their families within a clinical settingWorking at Austin Health means enjoying a strong sense of purpose, engaging in meaningful work every day.
