RCH has cared for the children and young people of Victoria for more than 150 years since it was founded in 1870. A full range of paediatrics and adolescent health services are provided plus tertiary and quaternary care for the most critically ill and medically complex patients in Victoria, Tasmania, southern NSW and other states around Australia and overseas. The Hospital has more than 6,000 staff, a budget of $850M, 12 wards and 350 beds. Annually, the RCH has 300,000+ Specialist Clinic appointments, 90,000+ Emergency Department presentations and 20,000 elective surgeries.
About the Role: An exciting opportunity is available for a highly skilled and motivated Speech Pathologist (Grade 3) to join our team. This is an Ongoing role at 0.8 to 1.0 FTE. You will work within a supportive Speech Pathology team and collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues managing paediatric inpatients and outpatients with swallowing and/or communication disorders. The work covered by the team is diverse (e.g., ranging from medically and surgically complex inpatients through to developmental speech and language assessments). A significant part of this role involves teaching, supervision, service improvement and development. Caseloads are shared with other Speech Pathology team members, and some caseload flexibility and cover is required within the team by all staff. Part-time applications considered.
Classification for this position will range from VW6-VW9 Grade 3 Year 1 to Grade 3 Year 4 (FTE base salary per annum $102,091 - $116,646 plus superannuation). This increases in March 2025 to ($104,135--$118,981 plus superannuation). There is an additional allowance for relevant post-graduate degrees (i.e., completed after your speech pathology degree).
