Job DescriptionIn this role, the successful candidate will utilise their knowledge of pediatric speech pathology intervention, child development and family centred practice to:
Conduct assessment and intervention within a range of settings including, home, school, preschool, early learning settings and the clinic.
Assessment and intervention will largely focus on the child's early communication skills,play skills, social skills, feeding and mealtimes.
In addition to individualised sessions with children and families, there are also opportunities to conduct group therapy to support children with similar goals.Select, implement and monitor augmentative and assistive communication (AAC)to support different types of communication.Educate and empower families and caregivers to use strategies to support their child in everyday routines and environments.Desired Skills and ExperienceQualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology, and current membership with Speech Pathology Australia.You must hold a current driver's license and be willing to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check, NSW Working with Children'sCheck and VIC Working with Children's Check.An interest for or experience in working to support children with a disability and their families as well as an understanding of complex needs.Experience and/or knowledge of relevant formal and standardised assessments.Experience and/or understanding of setting goals and implementing evidence-based therapy across a diverse range of disorders.Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong rapport and relationships with clients, carers, staff and external stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of the team.Effective written and communication skills, time management and organisational skills.Demonstrated computer literacy skills.High level of enthusiasm and positive attitude.The successful candidate will reap the benefits of: Flexible working arrangements (full-time or part-time positions available).Competitive/negotiable annual remuneration package, based on skills and experience.Salary packaging offered (pay less tax and have more money in your pocket!
