Consulting & Generalist HR (Human Resources & Recruitment)
Our client is a multi-national organisation with 28,000 staff globally. With teams based in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Sydney as well as remote WA, they service the freight and rail industries, as well as mining, marine and transport, offering digital solutions, equipment, systems and other specialised services.
We are looking for someone who predominantly enjoys being involved in the day-to-day operational HR duties.
This role is based in Perth CBD and works closely with US teams, so early morning and evening phone calls are required at times. Flexibility with hours is offered to accommodate these out-of-hours requirements.
2 days WFH is available, with the requirement to attend offices in Kewdale and Welshpool on a weekly basis. You will also be able to attend remote sites every 2-3 months to see the operations and meet the employees.
The Role
Provide HR support to business leaders and roughly 200+ employees in various offices across Australia (50/50 white and blue collar). Work within a collaborative HR team in the region and globally to deliver results related to Compensation, Workforce Planning, Learning & Talent Development. Meet regularly & proactively with managers to provide HR guidance on change management, compensation, retention, engagement, talent assessments, performance development. Advise people leaders on all areas of HR including providing consistent, transparent application of policies and practices; own investigations when needed. Drive, influence and shape an awesome culture. Partner with Operational leaders to execute business-specific strategies. Investigate and resolve employee issues. Involvement in and contribution to HR Projects in conjunction with the wider HR team and business leaders. Education and Qualifications
Recognized degree qualified in a relevant discipline (Human Resources, Economics or Business) preferred. 5-10 years HR experience. Experience in interpreting Australian employment law, WH&S, and other government legislation. Experience dealing with employees under an EBA. High level ability to influence, communicate, consult, and negotiate with staff at all levels, and with external agencies, service providers, and customers. Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy and to exercise tact and discretion. Intermediate level computing skills including Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of HRIS systems (Workday preferred). Experience in Manufacturing/Construction/Rail/Engineering/heavy equipment industry (preferred).
