It's a deeper purpose that we can all be proud of.About the OpportunityWe are seeking multiple Specialist Systems Engineers to join our Collins Class Submarine LOTE (Life of Type Extension) program.
These roles involve providing engineering expertise, leadership, and support, ensuring technical decisions are safe, practical, and suitable for implementation on board the submarine.
If you have a passion for submarine design and sustainment, and thrive in a collaborative environment, these opportunities are for you.There roles are all Full time, Permanent based from Osborne, SA.ResponsibilitiesProvide technical supervision and mentorship to a multi-discipline team of engineers and technical personnelManage large, complex projects using Systems Engineering methodologies, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budgetUtilize advanced engineering toolsets and apply knowledge of submarine design, operation, and sustainmentPrepare and review engineering documentation, including specifications, test procedures, and reportsImplement change and configuration management processes, managing baselines and technical performance measurementsProvide technical advice to internal teams and customers, and negotiate customer requirementsEngage in continuous improvement initiatives, developing new processes and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiencyEssential skills and experience to be considered for a Specialist level: Minimum 10 years of safety engineering experiencewithin complex organisationsRelevant Engineering Qualifications in Electronics, Telecommunications, or related fieldsDemonstrated ability to manage large, multi-dimensional projects and tasks using a Systems Engineering methodologyExcellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present material to executives and boardsHigh-level skill in utilizing engineering toolsets and applying advanced knowledge of submarine systemsExperience with change and configuration management, and managing risks and opportunitiesProven ability to mentor and develop less experienced personnel, promoting technical development within the teamEligible for Australian Department of Defence security clearance and International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) Regulations.EligibilityThis role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology.
