About the Role: We are seeking a forward-thinking and talented individual to join Carrapateena in the role of Specialist – Operational Readiness. This is an exciting opportunity for a high-performing professional to work collaboratively with our teams and their leaders as we continue to ramp up site production and improve operational performance through a structured series of investments over the next five years. Reporting to the Superintendent – Operational Readiness, you will be working with a team focused on delivering the necessary systems, processes, and organizational capabilities required to ensure value is delivered quickly from the ongoing investments in the site.
Location: Carrapateena, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)

In This Role You Will:Doing what's right and ensuring an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental and community responsibility is maintained through Operational Readiness activities.Delivering Operational Readiness activities, starting early in the project lifecycle to develop project-specific Operational Readiness deliverables.Working closely with project and operational representatives to make a difference through successful integration and ramp-up of projects.Building strong internal stakeholder relationships across Operations, Maintenance and Engineering, Technology and Functional teams.Seeking better ways by engaging and integrating with each key Operational Readiness delivery partner to clearly define all operational readiness scope elements.Managing change effectively and efficiently to strategically enhance business performance.Identifying risks and making risk-informed decisions to maximize business outcomes.About You:Demonstrated experience with budgeting and project management activities at an operational mine site. This should include the ability to plan work activities and resources, track delivery of work, manage risk and opportunities, and evaluate success.Effective communicator with the ability to engage with and resolve issues across all levels of the project and operation. Experience executing organizational change management programs would be considered an advantage. Demonstrated bias to a collaborative work style with the ability to work autonomously and achieve timely outcomes.Experience with the BHP context and operating model including understanding of decision-making drivers across a mine to mill value chain.A good understanding of the systems, processes, and organizational capabilities required to handover, operate, and maintain a new asset.Ability to apply risk management in both a project and operational context. Hands-on experience in applying the BHP risk management framework would be an advantage.Ability to translate operational requirements into training needs and/or experience with developing frontline training packages would be considered an advantage.Relevant Bachelor's degree or trade in combination with mining industry experience.About Our Process: At BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role.
