Our Opportunity Work Location: Perth CBD - Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday In this role, you will use advanced simulation tools to optimise our mining and supply chain operations, contributing to key initiatives across short- and long-term planning horizons.
You'll combine technical expertise, creativity, and communication skills to deliver actionable insights to stakeholders, driving real value across Fortescue's Integrated Operations.
Key Responsibilities Develop and use dynamic simulation models to evaluate operational changes, from major capital investments to productivity improvements.
Analyse baseline capacity and performance for 2-year and 10-year planning cycles.
Conduct ad-hoc simulations and supply chain analyses to address evolving business needs.
Validate models by comparing simulated results with actual performance, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
Communicate findings and complex technical insights clearly to diverse stakeholders.
Collaborate on the development of supporting toolkits, including input analysis, experimentation management, and results visualisation.
Qualifications and Experience Proficiency in simulation modelling (e.g., AnyLogic), programming (Java, Python), and statistical analysis.
Strong analytical mindset to tackle complex operational challenges and deliver actionable insights.
Experience in mining operations, processing plants, rail, or ports is highly valued.
Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to diverse stakeholders and collaborate effectively.
Experience designing compelling reports, dashboards, and interactive tools (e.g., R Shiny, Streamlit).
Bachelor's degree in a related field and industry experience in simulation or programming.
