We are seeking 2 x Specialists in Mining Productivity to join this exciting phase for Rio Tinto Iron Ore. We foster a people-centric culture, placing people at the heart of what we do.
These are exciting opportunities to have a strategic impact on the Pilbara Mines.
You will assist with the delivery of projects throughout the Pilbara Mining Operations (PMO) that increase the productivity of our mining operations.
The Mining Operations Improvement team is responsible for projects ranging from systems, technology, standardization, and process improvement within the mining operations.
You will join a team of Specialists in Mining Operations to identify the highest value opportunities for improvement, and then assist with the design, execution, and tracking of projects to capitalize on those opportunities across the entire PMO.
Key responsibilities: Work closely with the operations teams to drive improvement projects with a focus on safety, productivity, and asset utilization Apply operational experience to aid in identifying and replicating leading practices Collaborate with a wide range of functional and operational teams to drive productivity improvement, including Mine Ops, Control, MTS, MP&E, Major Hazards, Surface Mining Centre of Excellence, and others Identify, design, and replicate known and emerging best practices across all Iron Ore Mines and the Operations Centre Demonstrate safety through your own actions Uphold the Rio Tinto values of courage, care, and curiosity What you'll bring: A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team Mine operations experience, either site-based or in mine control A solid understanding of mining autonomous haulage systems/truck performance optimization A sound understanding of mining productivity KPIs, practices, procedures, and the ability to identify gaps within them The ability to think critically, collaborate and build trust with a wide range of stakeholders across the business to solve complex problems.
Excellent communication skills – ability to distil complex information into readily understood key messages and to present this to a wide range of audiences.
A passion for continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence.
The ability to work both independently and within a team to a high standard Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with technical data analysis platforms.
Experience with technical design software and fleet management systems are highly regarded.
