About the site Goonyella Riverside Mine is an open pit coal mine located near Moranbah on the traditional lands of the Barada Barna people. It possesses the largest autonomous fleet on any coal mine site in the world and is also BHP's biggest metallurgical coal mine in Queensland's Bowen Basin.
About the Role Reporting to the Mine Planning Superintendent, you will be responsible for developing pit strategies within the 5 year plan and beyond, generating schedules which enable the strategies to support the Short-Range Forecast and Budgeting processes, and supporting the broader Mine Planning Team in bringing these strategies to fruition. The role is critical in guiding the success of one of the operations in Australia.
This role is offered on either an 8/6 or 4/3 work pattern with FIFO/DIDO or residential living arrangements to suit your lifestyle. Work-life balance is an important element in the Goonyella Planning team, which focuses on work complete rather than hours worked. About You About You As the successful candidate, you will preferably have a tertiary education background in Mining Engineering (or similar) with a minimum of 4+ years experience working in open cut mining operations within mine planning teams.
As well as your strong communication and interpersonal skills, you will have demonstrated ability to build relationships across departments and be able to communicate at all levels. A strong working knowledge of design tools (Deswik/Vulcan), SPRY, Microsoft Office, Xact software packages is desirable.
You will also be a performance and achievement-oriented professional, who is motivated by exceeding expectations and providing excellent results.
