The role: As part of a multidisciplinary mental health service delivering high quality mental health care, the Psychiatrist:
Provides a comprehensive general inpatient and community psychiatric service within the allocated service/site/facility.Acts as a consultant to mental health professionals and health service providers, including general practitioners and other agencies, regarding the assessment and management of individuals with mental health disorders.Undertakes supervisory responsibilities with Psychiatric Registrars and other medical staff as required/appropriate.Details of Appointment Permanent, full time, day worker (with on-call) position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding, hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty.Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role. Desirable criteria:
Recognition as a Psychiatrist by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), holding RANZCP Fellowship or equivalent.Current Driver's Licence.Staff employed against this SoD as a Visiting Medical Specialist will be employed in accordance with the Tasmanian Visiting Medical Practitioners (Public Sector) Agreement and remunerated accordingly.On Call Roster and undertake call back work.How to Apply Apply Online.
