About the RoleReporting to the Manager Health Safety and Security and Emergency Management, you will be providing core health business partnering support across a diverse customer group. The successful candidate will be proactive and engaging, with a focus on partnering with and coaching operational leaders on occupational health related matters and deliver health key activities that encourages a healthy workforce.
This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract opportunity.
In this role you will:
Support CMWs who become injured or ill at work through an effective return to work approach in line with BHP and workers compensation requirements.Provide technical expertise in injury prevention and injury management activities.Maintain health reporting and execute data integrity and governance activities.Maintain mutually beneficial relationships with medical and allied health providers.Coordination and execution of the Rehabilitation and Return to work requirements for our people.Provide specialist/functional expertise on health related risks to uplift our business health management capability.Contributes, develops and executes the strategic management of Health related issues, provisions and initiatives across our business.Develop and implement evidence based Health improvement strategies in our business to effectively manage the health of our people.Maintain a sound working knowledge and execution of applicable legislative and regulatory requirements.Execute, govern and maintain legislative and business Health applicable data, records, reporting requirements and communications.Develop a working knowledge of legislative health reporting and the injury and illness classifications that apply to your work areas, utilising company standards and OSHA reporting guidelines.Support the design, management and improvement of health related systems, processes and resources.Engagement and effective communication with relevant internal and external stakeholders.About YouTo be successful in the Health Specialist role you will have a genuine desire to help people achieve positive health and wellbeing outcomes; combined with a clear understanding of the role that the resources sector plays in health and wellbeing management of our most important asset – our people.
You will also have:
Tertiary qualifications, is highly desirable, in a health-related discipline (e.g. Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Nursing or Exercise Physiology)Minimum 2 years' experience with the mining or related industryWorking knowledge of relevant Health related legislation across Australia and coordinating workers compensation case managementExperience delivering health strategies and injury and illness prevention initiatives.A commitment to coaching, influencing, and encouraging a mentally healthy workforce.You will be able to work closely and share workload with your team but also be comfortable working autonomously when required and make informed decisions. You will be motivated by a fast-paced environment and the opportunity to problem solve and drive positive change.
