Berry Street's Northern Specialist Family Violence Service (NSFVS) is the lead provider for the integrated family violence service system in the Northern Metropolitan sub-region.
The service provides a range of support services to families who have experienced family violence.
Preston location on Wurundjeri Country Part time (0.8) role, Fixed term until 10th March 2025 (parental leave cover) $106K pro rata plus Super and Salary packaging The Opportunity The NSFVS provides support services to victim survivors of family violence and their children inclusive of cis gendered heterosexual women and, their children; and people from the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Queer Community (LGBTIQ+) and their children.
The Specialist Family Violence Senior Housing Practitioner will work with victim survivors of family violence in conditional housing to maintain their tenancies, provide case management to a small case load of victim survivors in conditional housing, advocate on behalf of victim survivors to promote access to required services to support positive housing outcomes Key Responsibilities The primary objective of a Specialist Family Violence Senior Housing Practitioner is to: Hold a case load of victim survivors in conditional housing properties and develop goals to support their housing exit plans.
Support victim survivors maintain their tenancies.
Complete comprehensive risk assessments with victim survivors and children in accordance with the Victorian Multi Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM).
Well-developed understanding of the housing service system, particularly relating to transitional housing, public housing, and social and community housing.
Familiarity with the Residential Tenancy Act 1997.
About You You will hold a minimum Bachelor level qualification in Social Work or recent employment in the family violence sector or equivalency met through the 7 Equivalency Principles in line with the minimum mandatory qualification requirements.

Have an understanding of the Residential Tenancy Act 2017|Version 100 |Vic.
We would love to see: Experience working within the housing service system.
Experience working with clients in transitional housing, including completing exit plans and transitioning into long-term housing.
