The project is on track to become the first new solar salt operation in Western Australia in over 25 years and the first to produce salt and sulphate of potash from seawater.Mardie aims to produce 5.35 million tonnes of high-purity salt and 140 thousand tonnes of sulphate of potash fertiliser per annum. We are proud of our history and continue to strive for excellence.The RoleAs a member of the Owners Project Team the Contracts Specialist will primarily be responsible for developing package contracting strategies and facilitate the contracting lifecycle process across a range of construction related packages to support the development and implementation of the Mardie Project.Reporting to the Contracts Manager you will:Prepare package strategy in conjunction with key stakeholders.Manage all pre-award activities such as prepare and issue ITT documentation, lead evaluations and negotiations, approval documentation and Award notifications on assigned packages.Manage post-award activities including handover, kick off meetings, contractual support and provide commercial representation on assigned packages.Provide input in the negotiation of commercial agreements in conjunction with other relevant disciplines e.g legal.Responsible for administration including assessing, reviewing and advising package managers on claims for variations, progress claims and extensions.Providing key stakeholders with commercial and contractual advice across a range of matters as necessaryReview contract general terms. and conditions to highlight areas of risk such as ambiguities, conflicts or deviations from the scope of Make risk mitigation recommendations and remedial actions.Ensure contract securities and insurance provisions are met in accordance with requirements in Corporate Risk Management.Arrange and facilitate regular progress meetings with contractors and key stake holders, record & distribute minutes of meetings.Closing out of contracts including securities, completion certificates and other contractual obligations as required.About YouBCI is seeking a suitably qualified candidate with 7 + years of experience at Contract Specialist level, preferably within major projects or mining sector.To be successful for the role, you will also possess the following criteria:Degree or diploma qualified in Business, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or Construction Management.Proven track record and knowledge of engineering/construction contracting practices.Experience with EPC, EPCM, EPCM, D&C, BOOT, contracts using range of cost models including schedule of rates, lump sum, reimbursable.Demonstrated experience in contracting strategy development for major projects.Claims and dispute resolution experience.You must have current unrestricted working rights
