Specialist Automation George Fisher Mine –Mining Operations Mount Isa, Queensland, Australia Reference Number: 102762 The Role The primary purpose of an Automation Specialist is to enhance the efficiency, safety, and productivity of GFM's automation operations by implementing and managing automated systems. These systems include automated Loaders, drill rigs, trucks and data monitoring tools. In this role you will provide supervision and guidance to ensure the safety, performance and improvement of the Production team to deliver the departments planning accountabilities.
The role plays and integral part in the safe and efficient execution of the mine plan to achieve business KPI's.In this role you will have the ability to make decisions, work to meet deadlines and exceptional communication skills. This role will be residentially based in Mt Isa and will consist of a 8/6 roster (12hr shifts).
The successful candidate will be responsible for: Responsible for the system performance, ensuring that automated systems are maintained to meet operational requirements. This includes monitoring systems and operators for efficiency, uptime, and reliability.Responsible for the proactive scoping of plans and schedules for Automation activities within the weekly and monthly schedules.Responsible for troubleshooting, quickly diagnosing and resolving issues within the automation systems to minimize downtime.Responsible for continuously analysing and optimizing the automation systems to improve performance, efficiency, of the automation fleet and operators. This involves using data and feedback to make adjustments and enhancements.Assist Production Supervisors on each shift to ensure adherence to the weekly plan, including maintenance schedules, to meet the department's key performance indicators (KPIs).Provide technical support to the Automation team on a shift-by-shift basis to address and resolve any technical issues that may arise.Responsible for safety leadership across GFM and for the health and safety of the Production team including:Responsible for executing assigned instructions and guidelines.Responsible for project management, including planning, coordinating with other departments, IT and with the OEM's.Responsible for providing visible leadership and ensuring compliance to company policies, standards and procedures for the Production and Drill & Blast team.Responsible for developing a positive team culture in line with Glencore values including mentoring and coaching to build employee role competency.Responsible for notifying and organising required activities for site readiness.Responsible for investigating and trialling new consumables and equipment for Production and Drill & Blast.The successful candidate will possess: 5+ years' experience in underground Production Load/haul, drilling and blasting,Demonstrate a good understanding of the Sandvik AutoMine SystemDemonstrated knowledge of risk management, safety systems and legislative requirements for underground mining,High knowledge base in Microsoft Office Suite (Especially Excel)Required - Senior First Aid,Required - Drivers License,Required - QSEC cardFor further information, please contact: Jo-Mari Botha, Recruitment Advisor on 0437 176 *** or email ****** Applications Close: 8 am Wednesday 23 October 2024 Be careful - Don't provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.
