Role Kennedys is seeking a highly motivated Special Counsel with 9+ years' PQE to join our established Liability team based in our growing Sydney office.
Working closely with two specialist Partners, Peter Craney & Chris Finn, this is a unique opportunity for an experienced Special Counsel to work across a wide variety of matters including personal injury, public and products liability, property damage and recovery claims, with the added scope of being involved in some interesting first party property, marine, and aviation matters across the liability practice.

You will join a team of highly experienced Special Counsel, Senior Associates & Associates whilst receiving first-class support from our dedicated Paralegals and Legal Secretaries – enabling you to thrive in the fast-paced world of insurance litigation.
Clients The Liability team in Sydney manage complex claims for domestic and London market insurers across professional indemnity and financialised matters including for insured accountants, valuers, financial advisers and brokers, property managers and construction professionals.
Who We Are Looking For We are looking for a strong litigator with 9+ years' PQE in liability, casualty claims or general insurance with either a background, or genuine interest, in marine, aviation or transportation. Demonstrate a broad skillset in both the State & Federal Courts. You will possess excellent communication skills - both written and verbal. Demonstrate the proven ability to manage your own time with excellent organisation skills and strong attention to detail, with the flexibility and dynamism to work across teams/files. High level of professionalism and integrity; displaying the highest standard of professional ethics. Flexible attitude towards working practices and ability to adapt style as required. A natural team player ready with the natural ability to lead and mentor junior staff. Self-motivated and enthusiastic with a genuine desire to further your career at Kennedys.
