The department's plans, programs and initiatives are structured to meet the requirements of the Southeast Queensland Regional Plan and related State legislation, in addition to supporting local demands and needs.About our opportunityAs a Spatial Analyst you will undertake spatial analysis activities, specifically relating to strategic land use planning to meet the needs of the community. You will provide advice and respond to requests relating to spatial analysis to inform decision and ensure project outcomes are achieved.We will also look to you to: develop and maintain division's spatial information data and methodology content and governance processesundertake spatial analysis services utilising a range of cartographic output, geo-processing and spatial analysisresearch and analysis to develop and implement complex spatial processesdeliver training of end users in the use of spatial data products About youWe are seeking someone that has good working knowledge and experience in applying GIS technology, applications and spatial analysis specifically relating to projects and tasks in Planning. Hold a Degree in Spatial Science, Geographical Information, or equivalent qualification. You will have an understanding and experience in applying relevant legislation and policy and have been recently in a role requiring similar skills set.Additionally, you will have: proficiency in the development, application and deployment of premise and cloud-based 2D/3D GIS environments using GIS business solutionsdemonstrated technical knowledge in the Esri suite including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online and Portal for ArcGISability to confidently provide support and deliver training to end usersgood time management, organisational, and communication skillsproficiency with Python and other programming languages will be highly regarded.
