Remuneration : $130,658 - $147,108 per annum + super + salary packaging
Where you'll be working:
This is an exciting opportunity as the pivotal leader of the newly formed New England North West (NENW) CAMHS community team. You will be working within the HNELHD CAMHS leadership team and providing direct operational and clinical leadership of CAMHS staff within the NENW sites. This position will be based at Tamworth or Armidale, however, will require travel to other NENW sites as required.
CAMHS is a specialist mental health service that assesses and treats young people 0 – 17 years of age and their families/carers who are living in the HNE Local Health District (LHD). Young people and their families referred to the service have complex and severe mental health problems that significantly impact on most aspects of their functioning and development.

In your role as a leader, you will:
Be available to guide the day-to-day practice and coordination of clinicians Be a point of contact for escalation with clinical and operational matters Engage in regular connection and communication with inpatient units and support the seamless transition of care Ensure that patient care is delivered in accordance with professional, legal, and ethical standards, while championing evidence-based practices. Manage service delivery, monitor clinician workloads and performance, and provide ongoing supervision and support to maintain seamless care. Contribute to operational planning, meet service targets and KPIs, manage resources to achieve budget goals, and lead workforce functions such as recruitment, development, and performance management to build a high-performing team and ensure exceptional service delivery. You will be a valued member of the HNELHD CAMHS Leadership team and will have structured routine points of connection as part of the CAMHS organisational structure. The position will report directly to the CAMHS Service Manager and will be supported by a number of key multidisciplinary leadership team members. You will also be linked to your professional practice network and will receive professional supervision as well as structured CAMHS specific education, training & professional development opportunities.

Be willing to travel outside the major hub site as required to visit our clinicians in the smaller remote, rural areas. Champion a learning-focused environment, promoting continuous growth and adapting services to meet the evolving needs of the community. Bring proven leadership experience, ensuring effective operations and a positive work culture across all shifts. Have experience building strong relationships with multiple agency partners to enhance collaboration and deliver integrated services across sectors. Requirements: Must hold as a minimum appropriate tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Occupational Therapy and general registration through the Australian Health practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or qualification in Social Work or Counsellor (Degree in Bachelor Health Science Mental Health, Djirruwang Program) which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association. Eligibility to drive in NSW and willingness to travel for work purposes. Extensive experience or demonstrated ability to work with acute mental distress in child and youth mental health settings.
