About the role:
The role will be a full-time police officer position within the South Australia Police.

To be successful in this role, you will be: A strong communicator who is able to effectively resolve conflict.A confident and decisive problem-solver, able to think on your feet.Honest and reliable.Courageous.Patient, resilient and respectful.Training with SAPOL will be undertaken at our Police Academy at Taperoo and will combine academic studies in law, policy and procedure with practical and physical training.
After successfully completing your training you will be part of a team who provide frontline services to the community, which will include mobile patrols to prevent and detect crime, maintaining law and order and undertaking an active role in traffic policing and road safety campaigns.
Some of the key tasks you will perform in this role include: Preventing, detecting and investigating offences in areas such as street offences, family violence, traffic, drugs and alcohol.
Securing and examining crime scenes and accidents to locate and obtain evidence.Maintaining public safety.General Patrols in identified areas to minimise the potential for public disturbance and crime.Investigating accidents, crimes, minor offences and public complaints.Gathering evidence and investigating, arresting and interviewing suspects.Testing persons suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs and issuing infringement notices for traffic offences.Directing and controlling traffic at congested areas.Attending at community engagement events.Providing advice and assistance to victims of crime and their families.Maintaining records and preparing reports.Attending court.You will then have the opportunity for further training, with more than 40 professional specialities - no matter where your interests lie, you will be sure to find a role that is the right fit for you.
Upon permanent appointment the rate of remuneration will be based on an assessment of prior service.
Recruits with demonstrated police experience may be appointed at a level commensurate with their expertise, up to the rank of Senior Constable.
The expected salary range will be $96,000-$112,000, inclusive of shift penalties and depending on experience and classification.
