Media Adviser

Location: Adelaide CBD
Assignment Duration: ASAP for 12 months
Work Capacity: Full-time, including on-call roster every 5-6 weeks (paid on-call duties)
We are seeking an experienced Media Adviser to join our client within the South Australian Government panel.
This is a fast-paced, dynamic role that requires a strong understanding of the South Australian media landscape and the ability to manage multiple priorities with short deadlines.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute media strategies to support business objectives and build organisational reputationDraft high-quality media materials, including press releases, talking points, and social media contentIdentify and generate positive media storiesProvide media advice and manage relationships with key stakeholdersOrganise media events and manage media-related logisticsContribute to the on-call roster and respond to media enquiries outside regular business hoursMonitor media coverage and provide reportsEssential CriteriaProven media relations experience (please provide details in your resume)Strong writing skills with the ability to produce effective media materialsAbility to manage stakeholder relationships and work effectively in a fast-paced environmentA solid understanding of the South Australian media landscapeDesirable CriteriaBackground in journalismExperience working within government or local government environmentsAt HOBAN we encourage applications from people with disability, people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, people of all genders, LGBTI people, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
