Job Title: Sous Chef Location: Nairne, South Australia, 5252 Employer: Tin Shed Distilling Company Pty Ltd trading as Tin Shed Distilling Co. and Iniquity Employment Type: Full-time (38 hours per week minimum)Salary: AUD 70,000 – AUD 75,000Job DescriptionTin Shed Distilling Company Pty Ltd trading as Tin Shed Distilling Co. and Iniquity is seeking a professional, creative and experienced Chef to join our team. The position will be located at our newly opened restaurant in Nairne South Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a wide variety of dishes, planning menus, managing kitchen staff, and maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety. This role requires adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, as well as effective communication, teamwork and a passion for cooking and presenting food to a high standard.Key Responsibilities:Working with head Chef and senior management to plan and present menus, pricing and regular specialsPrepare and cook a variety of dishes according to restaurant menu specifications, recipes and standards including wood grill and pellet smoker dishes.Oversee and manage daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, presentation, and portion control.Supervise, train, and motivate cooks and kitchen staff to deliver a high standard of service.Collaborate with and lead kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation and timely service.Preparing food to meet special dietary requirementsFollow proper food handling procedures to minimize waste and ensure freshness.Take instruction from and work closely with Head ChefEnsure compliance with food safety standards, kitchen hygiene, and sanitation regulations.Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure effective cost control.Candidate Requirements:Strong knowledge of food safety standards, kitchen hygiene, and best practices.Ability to manage kitchen operations and work effectively under pressure.Experience in menu planning, costing, and kitchen staff management is preferred.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Creativity and passion for cooking.Previous experience in a similar role in a restaurant or hospitality establishment.Qualifications Required:Relevant qualification at AQF Diploma level or higher, or 3 years of relevant, proven, experience as a full-time Chef may substitute for the formal qualification listed above.Two years of full-time work experience as a Chef.Work Experience Requirements:Minimum of 2 years of full-time, relevant work experience as a Chef.Benefits:Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.Employee discounts on meals and other perks.Positive work environment with a supportive team.One free staff meal per shift will be provided.Application Process:We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity in our workforce.
