Our Region:
GV Health Ultrasound Department is a dynamic workplace catering to not only the Hospital wards and the Emergency Department but also outpatients from the wider community. The department consists of 5 separate ultrasound rooms, including one dedicated for interventional procedures and another for emergency patients. The department operates from 8:00am to 17:00 Monday to Friday as well as 10:00am to 13:00 on Saturdays and Sundays.
The role is suitable for either a recently qualified Grade 3 Sonographer or an experienced Grade 4. The Grade 3 would be expected to be competent in abdomen, obstetrics, gynaecological and small parts. Working with the Sonographer tutor you will be able to increase your knowledge and skill level in musculoskeletal system and vascular structures.
A Grade 4 would be expected to be able to complete ultrasound studies in all areas of ultrasound. The Grade 4 would be expected to participate in all shifts on a rotating roster which would include weekends and on-call roster.
The successful candidate must be able to work independently and perform examinations to a consistently high standard.
We are looking for:
At least or equivalent 5 years' experience as a full MRPBA registrant
Current MRPBA registration, Victorian Radiation Use Licence and driver's licence
Completion of an accredited ultrasound qualification
Current registration with Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry to practice as a Sonographer.
Grade 3 or 4 - Flexibility to work across all shifts including on call and weekends
