About the Job About the role We are seeking an experienced and proactive Software Packaging Administrator to join our team.
This pivotal role is responsible for managing the Public Transport Authority's (PTA) Configuration Management environment, ensuring the effective delivery of desktop applications, server and workstation patching, and software auditing.
Key responsibilities include maintaining desktop application packages to the n-1 version level in line with Essential 8 standards, managing both physical and virtual Managed Operating Environments (MOE), and overseeing Group Policy Management.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a passion for process improvement, and a commitment to ensuring system health through efficient patching and configuration management.
As a Software Packaging Administrator, you will contribute to business improvement by analysing system performance and availability, identifying problem areas, and implementing solutions to enhance IT services.
You will also play a key role in project delivery, providing technical expertise on PTA technology initiatives and supporting application packaging, testing, and deployment processes.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team, manage critical IT systems, and support the delivery of reliable and efficient public transport services.
About You!
To excel in this role, you should possess: Strong experience in application packaging.
Considerable experience in managing Configuration Management infrastructures, large-scale Active Directory environments, and supporting Windows Server and Desktop systems, with proficiency in scripting (VBscript, batch files, PowerShell).
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong conceptual and analytical skills, capable of analysing data, providing insights, and generating detailed reports.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet targets and deadlines, work independently, and demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to public service values.
