As a leader, you'll guide our team towards a cutting-edge tech stack, refine our architectural roadmap, and ensure timely software releases. You are passionate about delivering insanely great products and solutions to complex technical and people problems. By combining your technical superiority and your amazing people management talents, you will be the driving force behind our growing team of developers. By working closely with your peers and reporting to the Head of Product, you will be in a fantastic position to shape our product and our work practices.What we're asking you to do... Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment. Recruitment for new employees.Agile Methodology: Drive the adoption and continuous improvement of SCRUM practices. Facilitate agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives). Have a full understanding of the projects in each release.Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support to the team. Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and industry best practices. Plan to migrate the software onto a newer technical stack.Project Management: Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Work closely with the Head of Product on delivering our feature roadmap.Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and other teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business objectives. Report team metrics back to the business. Understand your audience and communicate effectively.Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical challenges and roadblocks. Foster a culture of continuous improvement.Hands on Coding: Get hands-on when needed and take an active role in developing our product with physical code. We believe in people managers being able to 'walk the talk'.What you need to be successful... Your people management experience will include:Leading .NET software development teams (not ICT teams);Hiring and onboarding technical roles and building, managing, and inspiring a software development team;Effective relationship skills supporting a collaborative and trusting stakeholder engagement approach;Self-motivated team player who is well organized, with effective communication and reporting skills;Effective problem-solving skills and a strong "nonsense" filter;Your process management experience will include:Leading the team from planning, resource allocation, design, coding, deployment, and support;Policy and process development and implementation, resource management and change management processes;CI/CD principles and practices;Experience with Agile or other iterative development methodologies. We use Scrum.Secure software development experience;Your technical experience will include:Being a .NET software developer so you know what it's like to be hands on;Being aware of current web technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practices;Modern best practice web development disciplines, procedures, and policies;Modernising legacy applications;LocationThe 'home location' for this role is our office based in Milton, Brisbane. That office is within easy walking distance to Park Road, shops and transportation, plus the office itself is modern with excellent facilities, lots of TVs, smartboards and other gadgets.
