will include: Lockheed Martin Australia (LMA) works with the  the Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG) in Adelaide's northern suburbs.As part of Engineering Support Contract (ESC) here, LMA provides rapid capability development services to the CoA on the Jindalee Over the Horizon Network (JORN) platform, using modern and predominantly open source toolsets in an agile team environment.LMA has a long history and competence with this platform and team, so you will be joining and leading a well-versed and grounded subject matter expert team.The role of this ESC Senior Staff Software Engineer within the team will encompass the full lifecycle of LMA's contracted tasks, while adapting the level of technical assurance to balance risk against the customer timelines.A key aspect of the role is the ability to lead and adapt solutions to the needs of different tasks and to maintain an awareness of alternate technologies that may be applicable to the domain.In this role you will: Actively manage the proposal of complex technical solutions proposed by yourself and team Subject Matter Experts in the HF RADAR domain Responsible for leading the Reference Architecture (RA) ESC team and performing the point of contact to all stakeholders that interface to the RA team (CoA, DSTG, Jacobs and BAE Systems) Development of software requirement, design and test rationale, implementation of code and unit test across ESC software teams Responsible for resolution of problems identified during the conduct of software development, integration and test Support the development of junior engineering staff Support the development of Test Reports for assigned DSTG GFM associated with CoA responsible requirements About you: To be successful in securing this position, you will have demonstrated skills and experience within the below areas: Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Computer Systems Engineering etc.)and/or equivalent relevant experience (within the defence industry) Extensive knowledge of Software Engineering process, procedures and the overall engineering product lifecycle (preferably in a monitoring and control defence environment) Strong knowledge of the JORN RADAR and/or working history on JORN or a related area, such as microwave radar Advanced experience with the current tactical JORN system and ability to build, deploy and debug current tactical system Advanced experience leading and/or managing multiple small teams to successful outcomes Demonstrated past experience with Defence V&V programs Experience with Data Distribution System for real-time systems (DDS) or OTHR system design (desirable) An Australian NV-1 security clearance and ability to access/handle Export Controlled technology, data and information Special Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens and are required to hold and maintain AGSVA security clearance at the required level.International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are
