At Wenco, a Software Engineer is part of a team that is responsible for both System Reliability and Platform Engineering.
In the system reliability space, we are responsible for the delivery, monitoring, and support of enhancements to Wenco's products.
In the platform engineer space, we are responsible for the delivery and support of enhancements to our software development platform.
ResponsibilitiesDeliver technical solutions which improve overall quality, performance, and security of our product.Deliver technical solutions which improve the product build, deployments, monitoring, and alerting.Continually improve the reliability, security, efficiency, and effectiveness of our platform.Automate routine processes.Automate system monitoring processes.Participate in the on-call rotation.Participate in managing cloud infrastructure and system administration.Work with development teams to identify and rectify issues on an as-needed basis.Provide direct support during various operations such as product deployment and infrastructure upgrade.Collaborate with developers and IT to ensure new environments meet requirements and conform to best practices.Qualifications10+ years' experience working as a software developer.2+ years' experience in a technical leadership role.Experience across the entire development lifecycle from concept to development, unit testing, automated functional testing, deployment, and monitoring.Experience with containerization and orchestration and management tools such as Kubernetes.Experience working with Scrum practices.A solid working understanding of open-source DevOps technologies and cloud services.SkillsSystem lifecycle engineering.Information and system security.Cloud Infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code.Problem troubleshooting and management.Docker, Kubernetes, and other containerization tools.Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, and other monitoring tools.Amazon Web Services administration.Nice to HaveExperience with Cloud Native Computing Foundation tools.Experience with:AzureObservability StacksBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field with 3+ years of overall experience.Must be eligible to work in Australia.TravelAvailability for 5% travel.Wenco advances the efficiency and safety of the world's surface mining equipment through our fleet management systems.
