We are recruiting for two (2) Advisor (Real-time Network Management) roles in our regional Queensland Traffic Management Centres. One role is based in Cairns, and one is based in Townsville.Our Traffic Management Centre team is focused on maintaining the efficiency and safety of Queensland's road network. The team performs a range of critical functions including real-time monitoring of the transportation network, identifying and addressing both expected and emergency traffic incidents, and communicating important travel information to the public via a variety of methods such as Variable Message Signs, the QLD Traffic website, and the 131940-information line. We also work closely with field operatives and external partners to coordinate effective responses to traffic disruptions.Queensland's Traffic Management Centres improve the efficiency of our road network by providing motorists with informed route choices, maximising the capacity of the road network and maximising the availability of Intelligent Transport System devices.The RoleAs an Advisor (Real-time Network Management), some of your responsibilities will include:Monitor real-time operations of the state-controlled road network and respond to road operational issues providing operational decisions and subject matter expertise to set priorities, monitor workflow, develop local strategies, procedures and work practices, and allocate resources.Lead and coach traffic management centre operators and ensure appropriate skills sets and training needs are identified and developed.Engage with stakeholders and service providers to ensure effective responses to planned and unplanned traffic incidents and events.Review and update Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions and deliver training to ensure consistency across the TMC.Assist in the preparation of reports and correspondence ensuring accurate supporting data.Conduct audits to ensure the quality of data in incident management systems and identify gaps to inform training.About YouTo thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the ability to:Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Remain calm under pressure and ensure decisions are based on appropriate information.Plan and organise own work and make operational decisions.Identify, plan and contribute to improvements to procedures, processes, and systems.Work as part of a cohesive and diverse team and provide guidance and training to other staff.You will also have effective communication skills including the ability to debrief staff and develop written briefs of events on the road network.Mandatory Qualifications And ConditionsThis role requires the employee to undertake shift work on a rotating roster five or seven days a week (depending on location).Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.What We OfferWork and life balance through a tailored and personal flexible work arrangement.A 36.25-hour working week.An Enterprise Bargaining Agreement that provides regular pay increases and other benefits.Generous superannuation of 12.75%.Paid parental leave for eligible employees.A range of development opportunities including unlimited use of LinkedIn Learning.Access to an Employee Assistance Service.Please apply through the Smart Jobs and Careers website and include the following information for the panel to assess your suitability:A cover letter (maximum 2 pages) outlining why you are interested in the role and what you will contribute to the team.Your résumé, detailing your experience and achievements relevant to this role, and two work-related referees.If you have questions about the roles, please contact David Franklin on (07) 5475 2842.We look forward to hearing from you.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Occupational group: Administration
