We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our Automation Platform team in a fast-paced Agile environment.
You will have so much variety and development in this role from systems analysis, design, development, maintenance, and ongoing support.
You will work closely with developers and business analysts, in a high performing team to continuously improve our way of working and ensure the business can meet their regulatory and compliance obligations for customer communications.

What you'll do:

Analyse system requirements and develop technical design.

Develop and maintain application software.

Conform to quality assurance standards and agreed processes within the department.

Support the application software by responding to incidents and, analysing and fixing problems.

Perform unit and integration testing on developed code.

Produce thorough and effective unit and system test plans and participate and/or support further testing phases.

Identify technical improvements that will benefit the business.

Provide input to business systems solutions, estimates and specifications.

Assist with investigations into potential solutions, liaise with relevant technical experts and contribute to solution design and costing.

Utilise agile principles and practices in your work.

Promote continuous improvement through involvement in review processes and demonstration of individual leadership skills.

What you'll bring:

Tertiary qualifications in Software Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline.

Over 3 years' experience as a Software Developer with technical skills and capabilities in the following: Java, Python, Groovy, Spring, Bash, JSON, React, NodeJS, Maven, Jenkins, Cloud Formation, AWS Serverless Framework and version control software e.g.
Git.

Experience in Cloud services (AWS) such as Lambda, SNS/SQS, Step Functions, Cloudwatch, DynamoDB, EC2.

Previous experience in a large enterprise organisation (desirable).

Experience working in an Agile development/delivery environment.

Experience in Test Driven Development using Junit and mocking.

Able to work closely with other disciplines, particularly business analysts.

Good communication skills and desire to collaborate on design and development.
