About the program AIR6500 is the RAAF's $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems.
Lockheed Martin Australia's (LMA's) AIR6500 vision is creating a fully networked 'system of systems' that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.
Your responsibilities will include: As the Software Delivery Manager you will primarily work to provide software-intensive system development expertise to the team that is planning, defining and estimating the future of AIR6500, utilising both extant and emerging AIR6500 technological, architectural and operational outcomes.
This tranche will deliver improvements to the core Joint Air Battle Management System (JABMS) currently under development and provide new capabilities that leverage off both sovereign and US advanced technology.
Role responsibilities will include; Leading the definition of the software production scope for AIR6500 future builds, Liaising with existing AIR6500 Phase 1 (AIR6500 -1) software engineering teams and architects to understand current capability status and vision, Defining software product architecture concepts, integrating with the established Joint Air Battle Management System (JABMS) architecture Evolving system behaviour models to capture software subsystem functionality roadmaps Defining suitable subcontractors elements and scope, including product specifications and scope of work documentation Estimating software engineering activities to be performed by LMA software engineering teams About you: To be successful in the role you will have extensive experience and knowledge of System and Software Engineering process, procedures and the overall engineering product lifecycle, along with; Well-rounded experience leading successful software outcomes in a large, agile delivery team working environment Impressive experience working and leading bid and business development processes and deliverables Excellent ability to apply experiential judgement and lateral approaches to complex problem solving Strong experience in software engineering methodologies and techniques preferably in a web-based development domain Strong experience in managing requirements in DOORS Special Requirements: Applicants are required to be Australian Citizens and hold a current or re-instatable NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
