Social Worker - Yarrow Place Job no: 889217 Work type: Full time Location: Adelaide CBD Categories: Allied and Scientific Health, Mental Health Women's and Children's Health Network, Health and Recovery, Trauma Safety Services (HaRTSS) – Yarrow Place Rape and Sexual Assault Service – North Adelaide 5006 Salary - Classification - AHP2 - Allied Health Professional L2 - $88,255 to $102,240 Full time – Temporary for 6 months (up to June 30, 2025) About the Opportunity We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Yarrow Place Rape and Sexual Assault Service as a Social Worker in a Full time, temporary role up to 30 June 2025.
In this role you will be responsible for the effective delivery of therapeutic support to people of all genders, 16 years and over, who have been subjected to a rape or sexual assault.
This includes: Providing comprehensive one to one therapeutic counselling.
Contributing to and supporting a range of research initiatives and projects.
Providing education and training programs.
Contributing to the development of service goals and strategies.
About you: If you have the qualification of a Degree in Social Work from an accredited course providing eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) (overseas qualifications must supply the AASW Overseas Assessment number).
And have: Demonstrated experience providing crisis interventions and trauma care.
Proven ability to work collaboratively and contribute towards a cohesive team culture.
Demonstrated capacity to provide crisis and long-term counselling.
Feminist and human rights frameworks for understanding and responding to sexual violence and complex trauma, including intimate partner violence, childhood sexual abuse, rape and sexual assault.
A high level of written and oral communication skills including proven ability to communicate effectively with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
