An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker/Psychologist to step into a challenging, rewarding and well supported role within the Child Protection Service (CPS) at Flinders Medical Centre.
The CPS is an evidenced based service that provides a holistic approach to assessment and adapts work practices to maintain current world best practice.
The core focus of the role is to provide an assessment service to infants, adolescents, young children and their caregivers where child abuse and neglect has been identified by the Department for Child Protection and the child is under the Guardianship of the Minister.
These assessments include forensic interviewing and parenting capacity assessments.
Past history will demonstrate advanced knowledge and experience in conducting assessments with infants, children, adolescents and families who have experienced trauma, combined with professional experience/interest in the area of child abuse and neglect.

This role will involve the therapeutic care and support of young people where child abuse and neglect has been identified by the Department for Child Protection and the young person is under the Guardianship of the MinisterAbout the Role:The primary focus of these roles will be to provide assessment and therapy services to vulnerable pregnant women, infants, adolescents, young children and their caregivers.
To be successful in this role, you will have: Advanced knowledge in child trauma assessment and therapy,Confident communication skills with vulnerable and complex families, Demonstrated skills in best-practice models and approaches,Highly developed communication skills, both oral and written.
To be the successful candidate as a Social Worker you will have an appropriate degree or equivalent qualifications.To be the successful candidate as a Psychologist you will have general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and if relevant have Endorsed Areas of Practice.
